The Harry Potter book series consists of seven novels following the amazing adventures of a young wizard that has no idea of his importance and powers until his 11th birthday when a strange giant of a man named Hagrid comes to find and rescue young Harry and take him away to Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. In his first year of wizardry school Harry meets and makes friends with his adventure sidekicks, Ron Weasley and Hermione Granger. The darker side of these books follows the battle between good and evil between the wizarding world and Lord Voldemort, a dark wizard who wishes to dominate the world and the muggles (non-magical folk). Lord Voldemort is also the wizard responsible for the death of Harry's parents and is determined to finish the job by killing the young wizard himself, Harry Potter.

In the third book, Harry discovers that he has a godfather in Azkaban Prison, a prison for Wizards, and that his godfather is kept there for the murders of his parents. Harry also finds out that Sirius Black (his godfather) has escaped the famed wizard prison. Harry and his friends then hunts down Sirius and comes to find that his godfather was wrongly accused and Ron's wizard pet, Scabbers the rat, is actually the dark wizard responsible for Harry's parents death and is also an active agent for Lord Voldemort, who is slowly growing his strength back.

Later in the book series Lord Voldemort will fully regain his strength as well as his bodily form and after close friends are lost Harry will finally get his long-awaited chance to face the dark lord responsible for the death of his parents.
