Fred MacMurray is just an insurance agent who thinks he's smarter then he is. He gets taken in by the dangerously beautiful Barbara Stanwick, a perfect femme fatale. She wants her husband out of the way, Fred want her, so the husbands got to go. Fred does the deed, but pays for his indiscretion. The dialogue is quick and witty. So much so it was parodied.
