Jay Busse (idiot savant) writes words, gives opinions and looks forward to your opinions. I am not a journalist, which puts me ahead of many the blabbering, self-inflating bobbleheads spewing "news" at us on TV. Because I actually realize I'm not a journalist. Suicidal Utopia: For peeple that rede gud.

The Godfather

Lost for words. The Godfather is almost perfect.

Following the arc of Michael Corleone (Al Pacino) the third son of The Godfather (Marlon Brando) through his younger years of not wanting to be in the family business. To being the next Godfather.

Michael initially wants nothing to do with the Mafia. He goes off to war and becomes a hero. When his father is shot (a lot) Michael offers to kill the men who did it. At this point he's part of the family business.

Sonny, hot headed James Caan gets mad, he's always mad. He tries to kill everybody who pisses him off. This goes against him, since he's shot even more than his dad.

The thing that's always hooked me is the strange attraction we all have to this and all movies about criminals. What's the attraction?

I think it's the lengths they're willing to go to protect and save and provide for their family. As we all toil to provide these guys kill to provide. This in a strange way gives them honor and the women, for the most part, look the other way as long as they get what they want.

It's like telling your boss to get fucked, only you kill him, take his job and the company and provide for your family and all the family you can afford to take care of.

We'd all like to provide the best life we can, we're just not willing to kill a lot of people for it.

But we'll watch other people kill a lot of people for it.

Watch Sonny beat up his brother in law, he misses and pulls a lot of kicks... I've watched this way too many times.

Thank you Francis Ford Coppola!
