Tom Hanks, Bill Paxton and Kevin Bacon play the astronauts on the ill-fated 1970 Apollo 13 mission. It was the near tragedy that brought the focus back onto the moon missions. I was a kid, so I was still fascinated, but the general public had gotten used to go to the moon. Oddly, we haven't advanced a great deal. We're still using controlled explosions to propel our space vehicles. Oh, well, no use crying over our lack of ingenuity. The movie is claustrophobic, which is good for us experiencing this through the magic of movies. I've only seen this 3 or 4 times. I'm not sure why other movies capture me more. buy unique gifts at Zazzle |
