Jay Busse (idiot savant) writes words, gives opinions and looks forward to your opinions. I am not a journalist, which puts me ahead of many the blabbering, self-inflating bobbleheads spewing "news" at us on TV. Because I actually realize I'm not a journalist. Suicidal Utopia: For peeple that rede gud.

Penny Serenade Movie Opening Cary Grant Irene Dunne

Well, all I could find is a few scenes and the opening credits from this sublime movie.

Why is it worthy of your time? It shows Cary Grant as a softy, a n'er do well. A completely different character than what we remember him as. It failed, yet according to his biography, he loved this movie.

Irene Dunne is as good as she always is.

It's a real life saga, not overblown or over romanticized. A family struggles as most of us do. The relationship begins to collapse, a child's caught in the middle.

It's 1941 and I'm guessing this was made before anyone knew we'd be in WWII and looking for uplifting fare.
