![]() I wrote this in the first days of Obama's presidency. This is what we need: Some frickin' confidence, hope. A little less doom and gloom. Tell us this is gonna be alright. Unless of course we're screwed. Which is what we're starting to feel. He's not saying this is gonna end? Hope is a very powerful thing. Confidence that we can spend some money. Tell us you're going to hold some of these people responsible. Tell us the credit card companies we just gave billions to can't screw us. Tell us the banks will be held responsible, the mortgage companies, the car companies, etc. Tell us "you got this". Instill us with a nugget of confidence, for the love of spam man, have you been watching the news channels? Doom and gloom. So please, chill us the fuck out. *** Not too put any more pressure on the poor guy. But the point is simple, we see in a very limited light scale. Too dark or too light, we're blinded. Today we're bombarded with white-noise, it's hard for us to sift through all the information. Today we're getting too much info, years past, we got too little. Just like The Three Little Bears, we need things just right. If the Sun didn't fall, we'd never see the stars. If it were always dark we wouldn't be here. We emerge from the blinding white-noise lies of the last eight years and look for a star. Right now we're in a state of calm hope, holding our breath. I'm afraid he may come out and tell us the whole truth, which might be more than we can handle. Still, today we have hope... and the picture says it all. ***** We can't underestimate the power the white-noise has - it has scared us shitless for the past few months. Turn on any news channnel: Don't spend. Don't spend even if you're rich. Stick your head between your legs and kiss your life goodye. We have lost confidence. We're told to be scared. Thus the economy grinds to a halt. I can't spend because people need to spend so I can make money and so forth. We're all connected (never say all, there are those we're not connected to). The very, very, very wealthy... they're not connected to us. Anyway, don't under-mis-estimate the power of hope, goodwill and confidence. At least Obama's got that going for us. buy unique gifts at Zazzle |
