Both films are being shown today, although Goodfellas suffers from the editing of content for TV more than Dancing with Wolves. Dancing with Wolves is a fine movie. I prefer Goodfellas, as you may have guessed. Dancing with Wolves is a luxurious ocean cruise. It's a relaxing ride, with action, adventure, beautiful scenery and a great score. Costner is well suited here as actor and director. It was a huge risk, with a great percentage of the dialogue subtitled. Goodfellas comes at you at machine-gun pace. Each scene is fun on its own. Lot's of action, the duality of the mob and family, gritty language, gallows humor galore. The cast is, well, a great cast, Deniro, Pesci, Liotta etc. and the director is Scorsese. For me it's like watching an old, I meant vintage, boxing match. Two fighters at their prime. One the stylish fighter preferring to win long fights on style points... the other: The pug-nose firing knock-out punches the entire fight. In this case, style points went to Dances with Wolves. I scored it for Goodfellas. Am I here to amuse you? buy unique gifts at Zazzle |
