Obama and the Muslim World

Much has been made today of President Obama's comments on the Muslim world.
"We are not at war with Islam, we are at war with terrorists".

OK, I agree. But, of course there is more to it. In following interviews and polls it was shown that 48% of Americans do not trust Muslims.

For me, I guess I fall into the 48% that don't trust Muslim's. Their were those today that said if you were one of those 48% "you were ignorant".

Everyone on Earth is ignorant in some way. So I here by found the Confederation of Glorious Ignoramuses, which should include about 7 billion of us.

I confess to not knowing everything. However, if it was Christians suicide-bombing and not condemning the bombers. I would not trust Christians. You can substitute any religion here.

From my reading it does appear as though if you are Christian, Muslim's believe you gotta go. Christian's expect Jesus to come back, slay all non-believers and convert Jews to Christianity.

It's the fringe elements that I don't trust.

Worse than that, it's the fringe elements I do trust to take the word of their prophets as gospel and do horrific things in their name.

So, it's not necessarily a Muslim distrust as it is a distrust and general queeziness of suicide-bombers and terrorists, regardless of their religion.

We should also consider how we're perceived throughout the world. How do people feel about our mostly Christian nation invading their country? Are we terrorists to them?

I'd be willing to bet if you polled them more than 48% wouldn't trust us either.

Hell, I don't trust us.
